Iain has over 20 years' experience in the environment and water sectors, working as a management consultant specialising in benchmarking for the water and wastewater industry. He has undertaken international reviews of benchmarking activity and performance indicators for a range of organisations, including the UK national association (Water UK) and the EBRD. Iain has worked to develop training programmes on a wide range of institutional strengthening initiatives. He has been Business Development Manager for WRc Approved for a number of years.

He has identified partners for benchmarking exercises using strong interpersonal skills to negotiate participation, and conduct benchmarking visits. Iain is editor of WRc's Watermarque, an electronic magazine on water/wastewater industry benchmarking activity which is distributed world-wide to executives and benchmarking managers in companies, national associates, funding agencies and regulators. He also has a strong background in environmental impact assessment.
