Revised Scottish Building Regulations Published including requirements for TMV Valves

The new Scottish Building Regulations come in to force on the 1st of May 2006. Key amongst the changes made in the new edition is a requirement for hot water discharge for bath fill and bidets to not exceed 48º C.

The Regulations state that "Where both hot and cold water are supplied to a facility, the above may be achieved by use of a thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) or fitting complying with BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287, fitted as close to the point of delivery as practicable". BuildCert Approved TMV2 valves have been tested and certified against the requirements of BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287 and would be deemed to be suitable for use in these circumstances.

A full list of BuildCert Approved valves can be found on the BuildCert Website.

WRc-NSF can test valves to these requirements.
