Steps to Getting Your Material WRAS Approved

The following steps are required to gain WRAS approval for a product for use in contact with drinking water

1.Applicant produces, sells of imports a new product or material
 
2.Applicant completes Application Form
 
3.Applicant sends completed Application Form to WRc-NSF Materials Testing Laboratory
 
4.WRc-NSF confirms test requirements, samples requirements and charges with Applicant
 
5.Applicant authorises testing and sends appropriate samples to WRc-NSF
 
6.WRc-NSF carries out tests and prepares Test Report
 
7.WRc-NSF sends Test Report to Applicant
 
8.If product complies with test criteria, the Applicant sends report to The Water Regulations Advisory Scheme
 
9.WRAS lists the material or product in the Water Fitting and Materials Directory (WFMD) and informs Applicant by letter that the product is approved.
